Huge renovation works have been implemented in 1999, when the mill was bought by Saint-Pierre-Eglise local communities authorities. The purpose of it was to make it look like before.
In this way, several steps have been shedulded :
– 1999 – 2005 : first phase. Mill building renovation : all the masonry has to be done again, the frame has to be rebuilt in oak wood and the roof covered with thatch (using the old technics, Camargue reed in this case). For the mill itself, the existing Wheel has completely rebuilt in irocco wood. extended in 1864the pond has been reinforced and filled with water. The mill gears have to be completely replaced. the old stables have been revamped in to a reception office and a shop for visitors.
At the beginning of 2010, the second phase can start : The milling was entirely renovated, so that the mill can produce flour again. There is two additional constructions : An education room for schools and leisure centers animation and workshops organisation, a traditional bread baking oven, key place for activities around bread theme.
